Very hard to find nowadays. This is extremely gorgeous and manly. jbuzzzTam Dao Eau de Parfum jbuzzz08/04/22 20:01 This was the 2nd bottle I got from an “estate sale” on eBay. Like the other one, I figure this was probably sitting around for some time, so wasn’t surprised that the initial spray on my arm was a bit stale, not so great. As I said on the other review, it may not be that at all, may just have a rocky opening. It took close to an hour on this one to get a real fragrance smell, and be able to get several notes distinguishable from each other. It actually smells great after that. It’s supposed to be a “perfect balance of the four elements.” Not sure about that, but it’s certainly unique and very likable. Mostly a fresh-spicy kind of smell to me after an hour, and seems pretty damn well balanced. I hope it is better from the start after a few uses. I have high hopes, with it being as nice as it turned out, especially on the first use in who know how long since it was boxed up. I’ll see soon how well it performs and projects with a proper wear, but is going strong still now after close to/more than 3 hours with only one spray to my arm. I’m a happy blind buyer on this one. **update, not a great performer. Not terrible, just low to mid range of "moderate". Still awesome fragrance though. dabatchCacharel pour L'Homme dabatch05/29/22 03:27 there were four sad boss discontinuations in the 00's: spirit, sport, elements and elements aqua. many other boss scents came, but only very few had that magic style without trying too hard to be the most popular scents of all time. and as much i love boss bottled tonic, no doubt it's a very good one, it's not my beloved aqua. this and aqua was a match made in heaven: aqua for summer, elements for the rest of the year. a duo like egoiste and egoiste platinum. 10/10 alphaironeAtman Xaman alphairone07/01/20 07:06 Yes! Boss Elements is exactly the kind of nostalgia I like to revel in. A cool, nonchalant 90s fougere which at first may fool you into thinking you know the score with its blast of aldehydes and dihydro myrcenol, but there's a twist. It gets a bit dark, raw, leathery and musky. Elements is not niminy-piminy, its got cojones for something that at first encounter seems fresh and conservative. Its sophistication sneaks up on you in the most rewarding way. Discontinued but still available at a decent price (for now). 8.5/10 Jandp1Egoiste Cologne Concentree Jandp102/02/20 05:03 This was one of my favourate fragrances in the late1990s and probably the best smelling one out all I have owned from this house. I have always thought that it is a very unique smelling fragrance and personally have not come across anything similar. It is both fresh with a bit of spice without being heavy which probably makes it suitable for most of the year. I would rate this 8/10 UPDATE: I received two 50 ml bottles from the USA this morning and am happy with my decision to order them. Exactly the way I remembered Elements to smell like. According to my batch code it seems like my products were made in early 2002 which is probably around the time it got discontinued. Longevity seems to be OK. I do feel that it will really shine in Spring and Summer weather and as we are entering Winter now, will rather pack it away until then. APULIAN APULIAN09/29/19 01:26 "when was the last time you felt all the elements?" this is the question u can read on the booklet included in boss elements, and in this case the marketing is perfect. boss elements embodies all the four elements and that's what makes this edt so special. the notes i detect more are aldehydes, lavender, musk, oakmoss, some spicies and cedar, no leather to my nose. boss elements reminds wet rocks in the waterfall or river. u can feel an invigorating freshness(water) but not heavy, it's more airy(wind). the smell has something a bit earthy, mineral(earth) and at the same time the spicies give a warm and masculine vibe(fire). it's not easy to compare to other fragrances, boss elements it's a great edt but be careful for a blind buy because it takes time to be fully appreciated. i think this scent is still easy wearable despite it comes from the 90's. the performance is just ok on my skin, i was expecting something more(long 5-6 hours, projection 1,5 hours then a skin scent), fortunately i love the aroma. nice bottle as well. good for people over 30, for casual situations or work, for spring, fall and summer evenings, not enough potent for winter in my opinion. un profumo non facile da trovare, semplice e complesso allo stesso tempo. in questo caso il marketing è veramente azzeccato, unisce tutte le caratteristiche dei 4 elementi: è un profumo fresco e rinvigorente(acqua), ma non è pesante bensì leggero e "arioso"(aria), ha note di base un pò rocciose quasi minerali( terra), mentre le note speziate danno calore a mascolinità( fuoco). scent- 8,5 long-6 sillage-6 uniqueness-8,5 versatility-8 bottle-8,5 compliment factor-7 rebuy?no my vote-8,5 in one word- elements(what else?) louiee#S louiee07/09/19 06:25 Even better than I remembered. Just got my hands on a 30 ml bottle on line for a reasonable price. I bought it for my husband and will for sure enjoy when he wears it. This scent has a timeless and classical masculine aura to it. Sandal wood, leather, violets on a musky base. Clean, sexy and sublte. . Longevity and silage is moderate. I used to love it and still do. Maybe I`ll wear it myself from time to time. koots88L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme koots8805/24/19 18:38 I bought this on recommendation from a friend who is very knowledgeable about fragrances. He informed me this has been discontinued for many years (since around 2000) and a small number of bottles became available from a well known online seller. Im glad he suggested it, especially since its likely I'll never find it again, and I enjoy it. Its not a 10/10 for me by any means, but it is a really great scent. The only remotely similar fragrance I've ever tried is Davidoff cool water, but with added leather, and no aquatic notes if that makes sense. It really shines in spring or fall rainy weather, and summer evenings. I'd say its not worth really seeking out, but if you happen to find a bottle for cheap its worth it, especially as a collector. 8823188Ultraviolet Man Summer Pop 882318812/30/18 11:20 this scent is nostalgic to me. it reminds me os typical late 90s aand recent 00s fresh aromatic scents. its really a well blended pleasing of its own kind. i really appreciate its quality and uniquness. tatally a masterpiece. Michael3Boucheron Pour Homme Michael312/05/18 11:20 This is my second all time favorite from this house. Totally masculine, totally 80's. Boss#1 Is testosterone in a bottle. Elements in my view is between #1 And what was to become The "Boss the scent" sh2 sh205/08/18 10:36 one of the best high quality masterpieces from the golden era of perfumery. really great. FlirtBoyEau de Grey Flannel FlirtBoy04/29/18 03:21 For me this is darker, woody and very earthy Cool Water + some Ungaro III. That similarity is most apparent in the drydown on a warm skin. The color of the bottle is spot on. Unmistakably 90s cologne that gives a feeling of "fresh earthiness"... Lovely scent, unfortunately hardly available & overpriced, I own a 1.7oz bottle and use it sparingly. Great for mild spring/fall days. EscentaGrey Vetiver Escenta11/21/17 08:28 Quality: 4 out of 5 – It’s a beautiful, high quality scent. Originality: 4 out of 5 – This is different, but with some effort you could find something similar. I like it because it’s a great one for layering! I’ve combined it with Paco Rabane Black XS and also on other occasions Issey Miyake L’eau Majeure D’Issey. Projection (Sillage): 3 out of 5 – moderate; Only people in your immediate vicinity can smell your scent but it has heavy projection when layered. Longevity: 3 out of 5 – moderate; 5~6 hours Versatility: 4 out of 5 – This scent is very versatile; it works well for either day/night, autumn/winter, office/formal occasions for men over 25. Value: 2 out of 5 – Not easily available now. I’ve seen it for £40 for 50ml recently. I’ve just finished my two bottles but I’m sure I can keep busy with enough similar fragrances to warrant not buying another bottle at that price. Compliment Frequency: 2 out of 5 – Nobody moved away but I never get compliments on it either. Packaging (Bottling): 3 out of 5 – The bottle and sprayer are functional, but nothing special, aesthetically. Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 – Good – The positives outweigh the negatives, but there are still better fragrances out there. This fragrance will appeal to people who like a certain scent enough to tolerate its flaws. A lack of projection, value, compliment frequency and plush bottling are the main reasons that this doesn’t warrant a score of 4. Recommendation: Try before you buy. syarul syarul08/15/17 00:07 You want to swap this perfume with me? Feel free to message me asap. I got almost full bottle, perfect condition comes with original box. In Malaysia only, specifically Klang Valley area. FearlessFalconBlack Gold FearlessFalcon08/18/16 23:11 I could almost get on the floor and do some yoga when wearing this, because I get a strong "Zen" vibe from it. I will admit, the first time I smelled this years ago, it smelled of cough syrup. So it kinda turned me away. But just recently, I got a whiff of it again and it smelled very pleasant. I now own a bottle of it. The notes are very hard to distinguish, as they are blended so well. Focusing very closely, you can pick out the herbs: Sage, Lavender, and Jasmine, and the citruses: Lemon and Bergamot, along with some flowery scents. But the drydown is where the magic happens... You get a more woodsy and earthy aroma that gives the scent a rugged feeling. It reminds me of Incense, but more elemental. Quite a nice scent. Sillage and projection are average. Not too soft, but not too strong either. Disappointed with Hugo Boss' decision to discontinue it. HOWEVER, I have noticed that some websites are starting to sell this now! I'm not sure what that means, but if it means it's coming back, I'll get ready to cheer (: Overall rating: 8.6/10 gatsbyAntidote gatsby05/14/16 02:20 bought 100 ml tester, after 20 years I almost forgot how wonderful this gem is. I have so many beautiful memories in the elements notes can t be happier! This is in my opinion one of the best creation from the house, no doubt. No wonder why no one can find something similar with Elements- it is unique! LaidlawUkDeep Red LaidlawUk02/23/16 16:51 The first time I smelt this I fell in love with it, I bought a few Bottles and hid them in my Safe but to my Horror my Son got in there and used them all! Otakar IsharUsher VIP Otakar Ishar04/04/15 11:49 I can still buy it in our shop, but maybe for a big price .I see there Joop What anout Adam, Rochal Lui, Cartier Homme essence, Davidoff Relax and many many others. 1skyblueValentino Uomo 1skyblue02/13/15 07:48 I love it. I swear oud appears in the dry down but it's cedar that tricks you. Well balanced fragrance and leans more towards the high end niche vibe than a department store. Hard to believe they wouldn't bring this back. This should never have been discontinued. Troy PerkinsAdventurer Troy Perkins11/16/14 06:42 When I was 18 and at college I used to have a Saturday job at a department store, they used to reduce certain fine fragrances to half price in the New Year sales so I snapped up two 50ml bottles of the edt and another two of the matching aftershave splash. This made Boss Elements my signature fragrance for my first couple of years at university until I then bought Versace Blue Jeans and also Tommy although with hindsight although they were decent they were not anywhere near as classy or mature as Elements. Sadly this has long been discontinued and scalpers on eBay in the UK are charging very high prices. I can remember it being quite woody although more of a dark oak or teak like in Joops excellent Rococo. Elements also had a twist of fruit to it but not citric, from memory it was perhaps plum which is pretty rare in fragrances for men. Hugo Boss is a design house a bit like Calvin Klein in that they have sadly released too many fragrances over the last few years and too many flankers which has perhaps damaged their brand reputation. Elements was a beautiful fragrance though which was maybe not promoted enough in Europe. My housemate at university back then had Hugo which came in the blue bottle and was very bland, Elements had a lot more character and charisma. I have only every smelled it on another person once which surprised me at the time as I instantly knew what it was and brought back memories. It's the one fragrance apart from maybe Escada Pour Homme which I have since finished and cannot replace and I miss it! FogwalkerNarciso Rodriguez for Him Fogwalker09/11/14 14:31 Ouch! I feel like I've been stung -- by my own carelessness and impulsive decisions. I was VERY curious to smell this fragrance as I missed it first time around and saw all the glowing reviews; so, I decided to blind-buy some. I found a bottle on eBay which was almost ending, so I swiftly placed a bid on it and won. It wasn't until I received the item yesterday that I realised that the bottle was actually 'After Shave' and not EDT. Aaaaargh! Admittedly, I accept that it's my own fault but oh man, am I disappointed? :(( Yes, it does smell nice and the notes are there as mentioned in the description but like many other After Shaves I have sampled in the past, it is very poor indeed. When I put some on this afternoon, it had very little projection. I had to put my nose to my skin to smell it and sniff hard. As if this wasn't bad enough, the smell disappeared completely after about 10 minutes - I kid you not. Just to check I wasn't imagining it, I put some more on later. The same thing happened again; it left a weak aroma on my skin which seemed to completely disappear shortly afterwards. I now wish that I had read the description better and not been in such a rush to win this fragrance. I'm now out-of-pocket and aching to smell the EDT version - which I would hope lasts a LOT longer than this rubbish. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. EgokentriaB*Men Egokentria08/23/14 13:28 An exceptional perfume by Hugo Boss. Very intense, warm and fresh with a very earthy smell. A very elegant bottle, bronze in colour. It gives to those who wear it a sense of the elements. headofstateTuscany Per Uomo headofstate04/30/14 15:09 Fantastic fragrance, sadly discontinued and becoming more and more a rarity. Finely balanced between reserved florals, clean spicy aromatics and musky leather. Fits any season or occasion, very versatile and if you like Ungaro's Pour L'Homme III with its nice prominence of the rose note, this is rather similar but with enough variance to add variety to your arsenal. Longevity and sillage are moderate but the scent itself is classy, reserved, well balanced and soft scent that is very hard not to like. Good stuff. StardustHKTimbuktu StardustHK01/22/14 07:02 An absolute masterpiece for me. Unmatched in versatility. Any season, any occasion Elements always comes across classy and elegant with ease. DENIULTRASFashion Man DENIULTRAS12/19/12 11:24 I house Hugo Boss perfume's in the beginning of his existence always looked as powerful, the top. These even 90-s(again, me), there were so many brands of perfume, here were them, but not to such a degree, and then, and this is I can only suggest that it is not certain whether hyper production as today. With the impression that the size of Hugo Boss, I decided to Elements.I'm not so much familiar with Hugo Boss perfumes, the 90's, but I think this has its own story, which differs entirely from all Hugo Boss perfume, it is possible that I'm wrong, because I repeat I am not familiar with their oeuvre in 9's-perfume that decade, so I may be wrong, and say again, Boss Bottled, perhaps their best , is a different type of perfume, but may have a brief moment, not to be underestimated, but neither the beginning overstatement. In the beginning, I would describe it as a mix between Ungaro pour L'Homme III and Paco Rabanne XS, with more time to have the Chypre notes, so it is a bit closer Ungaro pour L'Homme III.Citrusi are quite strong, but yet different than Chanel Allure Homme, primarily due to lavender, to soothe Citus. forest freshness has also successfully achieved, thanks to the wooden base and oak cooperation moss and cedar, bergamot complements that great and gives the entire perfume composition Tea line, which is almost mandatory in this type of perfume from the period.Sandalo is' weak and there is no trace of any heat, but then again I'm somewhat calming fragrance that not only green and wood, but again the skin, which is very present and gives a fougere obise. There is the herbs and spices, and perhaps a little flower, which in turn pulls on the Earth contours. As country, and everywhere is full of cedar forests, which is not strenuous so much so, that at times, but cut its acuity. Here is and tobacco, which appears from time to time and that is almost a natural symbiosis with the base of the perfume, and reminded me in a bit of a lesser extent, the Davidoff Cool Water, even perhaps in more. Now smell it from his hand, has the Masculine Way, which in turn is somewhat common to all these perfumes, these are some (deliberately do not want to write 90's, I got sick of that pehrase with anyone), and I the years.I find that is similar to the Best of Chevignon Chevignon, perhaps with Chevignon Brand Cologne, but this is 2, and aided by a little whiskey so the resemblance is still greater with 1.Like my perfume, it's a nice, sharp, although definitely not my type of perfume, and I found that the elegant, slightly pushy, almost brutal, but less than all of these heavyweights and others like him, these years. Now can not say that the perfume, 'epochal. Is good, strong , penetrating, masculine's, wood, clay, so the classic fragrance from a period behind us, and maybe that will convince me that the Hugo Boss fragrances were synonymous, very good, almost the top perfumes that era. There another example so ignorance can cloud your mind that man, Hugo Boss, the German high folirant's, who have occupied, any such position in the world Designer, and now we get himself without blame, instead of eau de Toillete, eau de water.maybe better wasser eau de , as the Germans were still in question! anotae anotae03/26/12 01:55 My favorite on my collection, 18 year still brilliant and powerful.
